Cheesy Slow Cooker Chicken...
Family Tested, Family Approved!

This cheesy slow cooker chicken recipe is a revamp of a recipe I found elsewhere. It was too bland for my liking, so I added some onions, mushrooms and garlic and by jimminy, it's good!

1 Onion, chopped
1 Cup Mushrooms, sliced
6 Chicken Breasts, skinless and boneless (or other skinless and boneless chicken parts, like thighs)
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
Salt
Pepper
1 Clove Garlic, minced
2 Cans Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 Can Condensed Cheddar Cheese Soup
½ Cup Water

Arrange onions and mushroom in a thin layer on the bottom of the slow cooker.

Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.

Sprinkle both sides of chicken with salt and pepper. Brown chicken in pan. Arrange browned chicken over the onion/mushroom layer in slowcooker.

Use water to pick up brown bits in bottom of pan.

Mix soups, garlic and water together thoroughly and pour over chicken in slow cooker.

Cook on low for 8 hours. Serve over egg noodles.

Tip: Leftover noodles? Leftover sauce? Leftover chicken? Great! Chop up the chicken. Mix noddles, sauce, chicken, and some frozen veggies together. Place in a casserole dish. Top with lightly buttered bread crumbs or shredded cheese. Cover. Place in a 375 degree oven for 45 minutes, or until heated through. Take cover off for another five to ten minutes to crisp-up the crumbs or bubblize the cheese. (No I don't think bubblize is a word, but it works here.) Enjoy!
